The Experience
A mysterious Island – complete with rare wildlife and a secret underground military base to boot… It might sound like something out of a 1950's adventure novel, but it exists right on Queenscliff's doorstep, and it's once again open to the general public.
Not only does the fort itself represent an important part of Victoria's colonial history and a wonderful example of cutting edge military technology as it stood in the late 1800's, it also provides important breeding habitat for the endangered White-faced Storm Petrel and other bird species.
This fun filled adventure takes in the best bits of southern Port Phillip Bay, including a boat ride to Pope's Eye Marine National Park & the seals of Chinaman's Hat, as well as the fully guided walking tour of South Channel Fort.
