Additional InfoThe tour is undertaken in stable, double sea kayaks, to cater for all levels of experience and ability. Our standard tour is a max. of 12 participants.
Single bookings are welcome - you will share a double kayak with a guide or fellow participant.
No previous experience is necessary to enjoy these adventures.
You do not need to be able to swim as we operate by the philosophy we are ‘on the water’ not ‘in the water’.
Our trips are about good times, not hard work
Sea kayaking is suitable for all ages.
Families with young children (under 12yrs) are welcome, subject to availability.
Where possible we offer a separate tour departure for family groups with young children to tailor the trip to suit the kids. Duration3 hours - incl. briefing, 2 hrs paddling, & refreshment break on a beach
Tours are available daily, year round (excluding Christmas Day)
Morning Tour: Departs 8:30am (Oct — Apr), 9:00am (May — Sep)
Twilight Tour: Departs Varies - departs approx 3 hrs prior to sunset

Q. Can we take a camera or a bag with us?
A. You are provided with a 'dry-bag' to take a camera and any personal items with you on the tour.
Q. What is the weather like?
A. The weather in Tasmania is varied. Be prepared for all extremes – including sun, rain, wind and cold. During December to February the average daily temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius. During these months a daily sea breeze of an average 20 knots is typically experienced – the direction varies around the state. E.g. the Freycinet Peninsula experiences a north-east sea breeze (offshore on the western-side of the Peninsula). During the remainder of the year air temperatures are cooler (frosts are experienced in winter), hours of daylight shorter and sea breeze less prominent.
Q. What is the water temperature?
A. May vary from 10 degrees Celsius in the winter months to 18 degrees in the summer months.
Q. What facilities are there?
A. Facilities available in Coles Bay include: accommodation and camping, grocery stores, post office, bakery, tavern, petrol stations, restaurants, take aways. The nearby towns of Bicheno (30 mins) and Swansea (45 mins) have a number of additional services including the Bendigo Bank, hardware stores and larger grocery stores.
