Name a Star - All States
The Experience
You don’t have to be a movie star to know how to give a present with panache. Naming a star in honour of a loved one is a distinctive gift and the ideal treat for someone who means the world to you.
We give you the opportunity to name one of the 15 million stars listed in the Hubble Guide Star Catalogue. By adding the name of someone near and dear to the one million stars already registered, you will join the namesake stars of such luminaries as Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger, Madonna and Princess Diana.
Naming a star is a very personal gift. Stars are chosen from one of the Zodiac constellations or a constellation in the Southern Hemisphere. You can then nominate a registration date, to commemorate a significant life event, and create a unique name for your star.
Stars available for naming are bright enough to be seen through a small (100mm or 4inch) telescope.
This documentation is presented in a gold embossed PVC folder and shipped in a custom-made flat box wrapped in gold star paper. The gift is ready for presentation with no prices inside.
Each framed star naming gift package is presented in a beautifully decorated box containing a certificate detailing the astronomical coordinates, constellation, date of registration and name of your star; along with a personalized chart of the night sky pinpointing the position of your star.
All registered star names and their astronomical coordinates are published in a series of astronomy books called Your Place in the Cosmos; copies of which are on file in the US Copyright Office in Washington DC.

The date of registration
This date should enhance the meaning of the starnaming. You nominate the day and month (current calendar year is used), eg birthday, anniversary or other occasion you want remembered. Registrations are normally dated forward. For example, a starnaming dated February 14 ordered in January will be delivered before Valentine's Day.
The Starname
Deciding the name is the most important part. You can use up to 35 characters (letters, numbers and the spaces between words count as characters). Most starnames are the name of the person the gift is for. It can however be anything from a nickname to the full name and birthdate. Or, the starname could consist of the names of a couple, and even include a message. Many choose a name that is of special significance to the giver and receiver alone. Because you know the recipient best, your choice will certainly make that person feel the same as a star. DurationDelivery times may vary depending on destination Dress CodeWe recommend wearing a tie when presenting this gift (it is just such a special occasion)
