This joy flight will take you from Coastal Redcliffe to Woody Point and past the North Pine Dam near Lake Samsondale, offering spectacular panoramic views of Brisbane and Coastal Queensland from the Tiger Moth’s traditional open cock-pit.

History of the Tiger Moth:

Originally designed and built in England, The Tiger Moth was later built in Australia under licence to equip the RAAF with a new basic trainer. The Tiger Moth’s design was evolved from the Gipsy Moth a 1924 design and first flew in 1931. At the outbreak of WWII it was the basic trainer for all the airmen in the Commonwealth and was the last biplane trainer used by the RAAF. Tiger Moths were built in Australia under licence to equip the RAAF with a new basic trainer.

The Tiger Moth you’ll be flying in was one of the first Australian built Tiger Moths, constructed on July 24 1940 and was undoubtedly used by countless RAAF pilots to gain their wings before eventually coming into the hands of its current owners.
