The Experience
Experience the adventure of hot air ballooning around greater Brisbane! South East Queensland's only operator offering a unique opportunity to combine a city and country balloon flight.
After being greeted 20 minutes prior to sunrise, your pilot will brief you and your fellow passengers on the morning’s proceedings. You will then be taken to the chosen launch site. You my even be able to assist with the inflation of the hot air balloon.
Once the balloon is inflated, the hot air balloon will lift off for your flight. Whilst floating majestically and effortlessly, your balloon flight combines the city and country in one flight. Your balloon flight is tranquil yet exhilarating. As the world slowly awakens, you float peacefully overhead, witnessing the serenity in slow motion from the balloon basket.
Breathtaking views of the Greater Brisbane region encompassing the city of Ipswich and its classic Queenslanders, heritage buildings and homes, Flinders Peak, Mt. Walker, the Great Dividing and McPherson Ranges, Mt. Tamborine, Moreton Bay, the skyline of Brisbane, Mount Coot-tha, D'Aguilar Range, Wivenhoe Dam, the Brisbane, Fassifern and Lockyer Valleys and the Brisbane and Bremer Rivers.
Your flight is followed by a sumptuous sit down restaurant champagne breakfast and a commemorative flight certificate will be presented to each passenger to conclude the morning’s activity.

Please advise us, for flight manifest purposes all passengers’ names and estimated weights (in kilograms); if any client is over 90 kilograms, or have any medical issues. As weight is an important factor in a hot air balloon; passengers weighing 115 kg or over attracts a 50% surcharge. Due to safety factors passengers over 130kg cannot participate in hot air ballooning.
Breakfast is at a 4 star Motor Inn, that they have been using since they started operations. They can cater for groups, as well as to clients dietary needs if advised in advance.
Breakfast is a sit down Restaurant breakfast consisting of a hot cooked breakfast; usually eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, hash browns, mostly table service but if numbers are up then buffet style plus a buffet continental service i.e. pastries, breads, toast, cereal, selection of stewed and fresh fruit, yoghurts, tea, coffee and juices. DurationAllow 3 - 4 hours for the whole experience, flying time is approx. 1 hour flight time. Flights operate daily at the following times - Summer 4.30 am, Autumn & Spring 5 - 5.30 am and Winter 6.15 am. Q. Is the balloon flight priced per person?
A. Yes, the price listed is per person.
Q. What time do we meet?
A. We always meet around 20 minutes before sunrise. Our booking office will tell you the precise meeting time when you confirm your booking date and flight confirmation details & requirements are provided.
Q. How do I know whether my flight is going ahead?
A. Hot air ballooning is weather dependent and all passengers are asked to check in with the pilot the night before the flight between 7.00 – 7.30 pm for a weather report.
Q.What do I do if my flight is cancelled?
A. If the flight is cancelled, you can reschedule for another suitable day. If you cancel the flight at short notice, a fee may apply.
Q. Is it cold during the flight?
A. You will be no colder in the balloon than when you are on the ground. The burners are located above your head and, as you will be moving with the wind, there is no wind chill.
Q. What happens on the morning?
A. We meet at the confirmed time and you are taken in our vehicles to the launch site, which is determined according to the weather patterns on the day. You are then welcome to help us with the inflation of the balloon, which takes about 20 minutes. During the flight our ground crew follows the balloon and meets you at the landing site. After the balloon is packed back in to the bag, you will be taken to your breakfast location for a hearty breakfast.
Q. How many passengers are there in the basket?
A. Depending on the balloon & passenger numbers on the day, we have baskets for 4 to 6, or 10 - 11 passengers.
Q. How long does it take to set up a balloon?
A. It usually takes the pilot & crew about 20 – 30 minutes to get a standard tear shaped balloon ready for flight, passengers’ participation & assistance is always welcomed. This includes unloading the basket and envelope from the trailer, rigging and checking the system and the cold and hot inflations. Larger and special shaped balloons can take up to an hour to ready for flight.
