The Experience

This is the perfect introduction to the action packed world of rally driving! Our half day course gives you the true experience of driving a Subaru WRX Rally Car sideways on the dirt! An experienced instructor will sit beside participants in the car at all times and provide expert guidance every step of the way.

We’ll begin with an interactive theory session (approximately 30 minutes), during which time, we’ll introduce you to the safety, the how and the why of Rally Driving.

Once you’ve gained the basics, it’s straight to a Subaru WRX Rally car where we’ll strap you in behind the wheel to put it all into practice.

Soon you’ll be sliding sideways on our purpose built tracks, enjoying the traction, power and unmistakable exhaust note that only a WRX brings to the Forest!

After completing multiple laps of several different tracks, we’ll swap seats with you near the end of the session. This time you’ll be in the navigator’s seat as we take you for an adrenalin packed sideways hot lap around our rally special stage.

Additional Info

Participants must be able to satisfy ALL of the following requirements in order to participate:

* Be between 14 – 90 years old in order to participate in our driving experience.
* Be able to drive a manual car.
* Be free of any medical conditions that may prohibit the participant from driving. (Filling out a medical declaration on the day of your booking is required.
* Be free from the influence of drugs or alcohol (don’t have a big night the night before and expect to participate the next day)

Please Note:

Participants will not spend all day in the cars driving. Whilst we keep numbers limited, there are still waiting periods between drives or rides. Viewing areas will be set up where participants are able to watch between their turns.

A civil driver’s license is NOT required to participate in our rally school.

Juniors (those aged between 14-18) must have all paperwork signed by a parent or legal guardian. (This will be sent to the participant prior to the scheduled booking.)

This experience is weather dependent.

Duration

This is a half day experience.

Dress Code

Our courses and rides require that you wear neck to wrist to ankle, fire retardant clothing. This does not mean that you need to wear a race suit or buy specialised clothing for any RADT event. If you wear a pair of jeans (without any holes or rips in them), a cotton long sleeve shirt or a cotton/woollen jumper over the top of a t-shirt, that is fine.

Sorry, we simply cannot accept: shorts, t-shirts alone, tank tops, dresses or skirts.

You also need to wear sensible fully enclosed shoes. Again we cannot accept: open toe shoes, thongs, sandals or high heels.

You may wear work or race boots (no knee high boots or boots with a high heel), leather shoes, running or sand shoes.

We will have helmets available on the day. If you have your own crash helmet (motorbike or race) that meets the Australian Standard, we’re happy to let you use it. We’ll check the helmet before the school starts to make sure it complies.

Q: Do I have to have my driver’s license?
A: No, a civil driver’s license is not required, but if you are aged between 14-18 years old, you must have all the required paperwork signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Q: What happens if I can only drive an automatic car?
A: Sorry, you must be able to drive a manual car to participate.

Q: Do you provide food?
A: Tea/coffee is provided for the morning session participants, and bottled water or a can of a cool drink is provided.

Q: What happens if I do not have my own crash helmet?
A: No problem, we have them available at the course.
